WELCOME Thank you for your interest in working for Skillforce Recruitment Pty Ltd.

In this document, we are providing you with important information relating to any future employment through Skillforce Recruitment. You may obtain a copy by contacting us.

Please feel free to contact our office to ask any questions or to provide us with feedback or suggestions. We particularly want to hear concerns you may have relating to your safety or well-being whilst working through our agency.

LABOUR HIRE


We supply Casual Labour Hire Employees to our Clientele across a wide range of industries. The duties and responsibilities will vary with every assignment. As a Casual Employee, you are only paid for the hours that you have worked. You are not entitled to personal (sick) leave, annual leave or pay if you are unable to work on public holidays.

As a Labour Hire Employee for Skillforce Recruitment:  We will pay your Wages, applicable Taxes on your behalf and Superannuation payments. Cover you for Workers Compensation and relevant insurances. Assist with legal requirements to provide information and/or deductions from your pay to Centrelink, Child Support and the Australian Taxation Office. We will administer any matters relating to your employment as a labour hire contractor with our client. It is important to note that due to the nature of the casual labour hire industry we are unable to predict or ensure the duration of any assignment. Skillforce Recruitment cannot undertake to provide long term, stable or permanent jobs although we do assist where possible. As a casual employee, there is no guarantee of ongoing or regular work. We make every effort to keep our people informed about their employment but even long-term assignments may be terminated at short notice. We will create you an MLC Superannuation account if you do not specify superannuation details before the end of each superannuation period. (Only if you have accrued superannuation)

As a Labour Hire Employee, you understand and agree to the following:

PAY:

Pay rates and conditions vary with each assignment and client and you will be advised prior to your commencement of an assignment. We make it our priority to pay our staff accurately and on time – any queries are dealt with urgently. Our standard pay run is weekly Monday to Sunday and payment is processed via E.F.T. into your financial institution on Thursdays, however under some circumstances you may be put on a different pay run so it is recommended to check before accepting each assignment. You will receive your pay advice via email.

BREAKS:

Meal and rest breaks vary according to each worksite. They are generally half an hour unpaid. If there is anything unusual about the breaks at a worksite, we try to advise you prior to the assignment.

TIMEKEEPING:

You are responsible for timekeeping and getting your timesheet authorised by the client. Submitting your timesheet to Payroll no later than Monday lunchtime may be your responsibility. You understand that should you submit your timesheet late; your pay may be delayed and we accept no liability if this occurs. Always follow the clients timekeeping procedure e.g. clocking on/off or completing timesheets.

UNPREDICTABLE HOURS:

We will try to advise you of the expected hours of a job; often labour hire requirements can change even during a shift. The client will expect you to be available until the end of the shift however working hours may vary. We appreciate you accommodating for our clienteles’ needs, remember a short-term job can lead to a long-term job. If our client asks you to return for work longer than we had arranged, please notify us.

Note: Never leave your workplace without advising your supervisor.

INJURIES/ILLNESS/EMERGENCIES:

Whilst employed by Skillforce Recruitment in the event of an injury, illness or emergency it is vital that you report this immediately to your supervisor and to Skillforce Recruitment. In an Emergency where you are unable to contact your consultant please contact the company Director Daniel Ziccardi on 0407 124 777.

Whilst employed by Skillforce Recruitment we are liable to manage any injuries, illnesses or emergencies you are involved in, this is to ensure that should there be a claim for workers compensation; the exact details of the incident are recorded accurately at the time it occurred. Failure to report immediately and adequately may lead to a claim for workers compensation being delayed or rejected.

If you wish to claim workers compensation after you sustain an injury, illness or emergency you must obtain a First Medical Certificate from a Doctor. Skillforce Recruitment will then arrange for you to complete the appropriate forms and assist you throughout the claim promptly and efficiently.

Injury Management System

  1. Reporting of injuries, illness or emergencies Immediately have your workplace supervisor notified if you sustain an injury, illness or emergency; Skillforce Recruitment must be notified as soon as possible. An incident report must also be completed.
  2. Seeking First Aid & Seeking Medical Assistance

You should seek first aid or for more serious circumstances seek medical assistance.

If you require medical assistance from a doctor obtain a First Medical Certificate. Contact Skillforce Recruitment to find out medical clinics. Please be sure to advise the Medical Clinic that Skillforce Recruitment is your employer. (Do not quote your workplace employer).

  1. Claiming Workers Compensation

Skillforce Recruitment will provide a Workers Compensation Claim Form 2B should you with to make a worker’s compensation claim. You must complete and return the form along with your First Medical Certificate to Skillforce Recruitment. This form starts the Workers Compensation Claim process.

Skillforce Recruitment is committed to assisting and managing injured workers in accordance with the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 1981.

Skillforce Recruitment representative’s will always be available to conduct a site visit and complete an accident investigation with our clientele. You may be required to assist Skillforce Recruitment and/or our clientele with the investigation.

HAZARD, NEAR MISS IDENTIFICATION POLICY:

Prevention of accidents is the responsibility of everyone. If you observe a potential hazard please contact Skillforce Recruitment.

MACHINERY AND VEHICLE OPERATION:

You must not operate machinery or vehicles if you do not have the appropriate qualification, training or competency. You must ensure that you have proper qualifications, training or competency to use machinery or vehicles. If you feel uncomfortable operating any machinery or vehicles you must refuse to do so, and tell Skillforce Recruitment of this issue immediately. If a supervisor insists on you operating any machinery or vehicles and you don’t have the appropriate qualifications, training or competency, please explain Skillforce Recruitment’s policy and inform Skillforce Recruitment.

LOCKOUT-TAGOUT (LOTO) OR LOCK AND TAG LOTO:

Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) or lock and tag LOTO is a safety procedure which is used in industry and research settings to ensure that dangerous machines are properly shut off and not started up again prior to the completion of maintenance or servicing work. If you believe any machinery or vehicle is faulty and/or requires LOTO please go and advise your supervisor immediately, have someone else stand guard until LOTO is completed to the machinery or vehicle.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY:

Skillforce Recruitment and our clientele have a zero tolerance towards drugs and alcohol within the workplace. If your supervisor considers that your ability to perform work is impairment by the consumption of drugs or alcohol your assignment will cease, you will not receive any future assignments via Skillforce Recruitment.

MOBILE PHONE USAGE:

Personal mobile phones must not be used during working hours.

SMOKING:

Many workplaces are smoke free. If you wish to smoke you must do so during your approved breaks and where smoking is permitted. If you are not sure if smoking is allowed please ask your supervisor or do not smoke.

PPE & UNIFORM:

You will be told if there are special clothing requirements (e.g. long trousers/sleeves or clothes for dirty work) but generally, wear neat and tidy work clothes and steel capped boots.

You must wear personal protective equipment as provided and instructed by your supervisor such as: Skin Protection (rubber gloves, cut-resistant gloves, heat-resistant gloves, Coats and Jackets etc.) Eye Protection (Face Shields, Welding Helmets, Hard Hats, Sun Hats and Safety Glasses etc.)  Breathing Protection (Breathing apparatus and Dusk Masks etc.) Hearing Protection (Ear Plugs, Ear Muffs etc.) Etc.

If you are performing an assignment that you believe warrants this equipment request it from your supervisor, if it is not provided please call Skillforce Recruitment.

SAFE WORK PROCEDURE:

A Safe Work Procedure is a working risk control document created by teams within the company that describes the safest and most efficient way to perform a certain task. This document stays in the Health & Safety system for regular use as a template or guide when completing that task on site.

The document generally lists the associated hazards involved in performing a task, what risk score is associated with the hazards (using a risk matrix), what personal protective equipment is required, and the steps involved to complete the activity without incident. You must follow all SWP if you are unsure please ask your supervisor.

KEEPING IN TOUCH:

It is important to let Skillforce Recruitment know when you are available for work, this is best achieved by calling our office once a week so we keep you in mind for any assignments that become available. At Skillforce Recruitment we are proud of the relationships we have with many of our casual employees.

GENERAL, PAYROLL AND JOB AVAILABILITY ENQUIRIES:

You should make general, payroll and job availability enquiries between 8am and 5pm.

If you are unable to attend work you must advise your Skillforce Recruitment Consultant with as much notice as possible prior to your scheduled start time.

RIGHTS TO WORK IN AUSTRALIA:

By signing the application form, you understand and agree to provide Skillforce Recruitment evidence of your rights to work in Australia before commencing employment by providing us with your Australian Birth Certificate, Passport or and ImmiCard and any other Government-issued photo identification required.

By signing this application form, you acknowledge and agree that you will not, during your employment or thereafter, except with the consent of the employer, as required by law or in the performance of your duties, use or disclose confidential information relating to the business of the employer, including but not limited to client lists, trade secrets, client details and pricing structures.

PERMANENT PLACEMENT


We supply Permanent Placement Employees to our Clients across a wide range of industries. The duties and responsibilities will vary with every assignment.

As a Permanent Placement Employee, our Client is responsible to:

  • Pay your Wage/Salary, applicable Taxes and Superannuation.
  • Ensure you are covered for Workers Compensation and relevant insurances.
  • Assist with legal requirements to provide information and/or deductions from your pay to Centrelink, Child Support and the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Administer any matters relating to your employment.

As a Permanent Placement Employee, you agree to the following:

  • Understand that if we place you as a Permanent Placement this means you are working for our client directly and they will be paying you directly and that our client will solely be responsible for all aspects of your employment.
  • Understand that you are responsible for ensuring you ask for and sign an employment contract with our client.
