PPE and readiness are operational controls

Protection only works when condition, fit and task suitability are verified.

Required PPE checklist

Check straps, visors, lanyards and expiry dates before use.

Use the PPE listed in the host induction and SWMS.

Report defects before starting any task.

Clean, store and maintain equipment correctly.

Fatigue and illness affect judgement and body control.

If readiness is not suitable, request reassignment before work.

Do not do high-risk tasks with impairment concerns.

Missing PPE or damaged kit should trigger immediate reporting.
